In order to cope with the trauma, Alice escaped to a twisted version of her childhood fantasy world, Wonderland until her release from the local Asylum. Like the first title in the series, Madness Returns is a dark and psychological reinterpretation of the classic Alice in Wonderland stories. The game was released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on June 14, 2011. The game was developed by Spicy Horse, a Shanghai based development house created by American McGee, and published by Electronic Arts. Alice: Madness Returns is a third-person action adventure and hack and slash game, and a sequel to 2000's American McGee's Alice.
